Most people know Michael Dukakis as the former Governor of Massachusetts and 1988 presidential candidate, but the Greek-American politician is also deeply invested in education and improving health care around the world. After leaving office in 1991, Dukakis served as a visiting professor at the University of Hawaii, where he settled with his wife, Kitty, taught courses in political leadership and health policy, and led public forms on the reform of the nation's health care system. He is currently a Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Northeastern University, a visiting professor at the School of Public Affairs at UCLA, and a longtime researcher focused on national health care policy reform. Mr. Dukakis's unquenchable passion for education, health care, philanthropy, (and Greek desserts) make him a superb member of Sustainable Health Empowerment's Advisory Board.
